Assistant
Christian Direction
The general assistant will help the administrative head office at Christian Direction with clerical, communications and administrative support work. The employee will learn the Christian community development approach, provide support to various ministries under Christian Direction and will attend workshops and training on urban theology and mission.
Job Posting
Time commitment – 30 hours a week
Hourly rate – $15.50 (including increase in minimum wage of May 1st, 2023)
Start date – May 1st, 2023
End date – August 18, 2023/16 weeks
This summer job is offered in collaboration with Service Canada and is conditional to the provision of a federal grant. The applicant must be at least 15 years old and no more than 30 years old at the moment of hiring.
Tasks

Assisting Christian Direction and its ministries with their communications

Attending communications committee meetings

Visit ministries and take photos of their activities

Write short texts on activities for social media

Help with the layout of newsletters

Attending staff meetings and weekly Urban Labs

Other administrative tasks, if needed
Qualifications
-
Candidates must be between 18-30 years of age at the moment of hiring

Candidates must be bilingual (French and English)

Have a desire to work in the context of an urban Christian ministry

Having skills with Office, Excel and social media platforms, an asset

Have a sense of flexibility and autonomy

Have good organizational skills

Christian Direction is a Christian organisation. Its vision is to see God transform all of life in urban communities by the concerted actions of committed Christians. It fulfils its vision through partnerships with churches that are committed towards their local community and doing ministries with committed Christians. Christian Direction has several ministry sites located in five boroughs in Montréal, but is also doing ministry elsewhere in Quebec.
